West Valley Groundwater Cleanup Coalition Project

The West Valley Groundwater Clean-Up Coalition Project is a multi-year project intended to cleanup contaminated groundwater in the West Van Buren Area WQARF Site and remove hazardous substances.

The Coalition includes businesses and organizations who have joined to fund the clean-up effort.

The project includes support and oversight from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality who has been studying the contamination since the 1980s.

The Roosevelt Irrigation District, with more than 20 water wells in the area that have been impacted, has initiated the clean-up coalition with the help of Gallagher and Kennedy, a Phoenix law firm.

Once the Coalition is organized, the project will proceed with research, approvals and construction of clean-up systems and processes.
